The crew members of the MV Fu Run Da 1 have received their back wages

Nikolay Sukhanov, Chairman of the Far Eastern Regional Organization of the Seafarers’ Union of Russia, has reported this. 

On September 23, the Port State Control Inspectorate of the Nakhodka Harbourmaster's Office carried out an inspection of the vessel and found no violations of maritime labor regulations. 

Recall that the SUR FERO Labor Inspectors visited the MV Eversun on September 18, 2025. The inspection revealed that the Russian seafarers were working without employment contracts. As for the Indonesian crew members, they had individual contracts where another name of the vessel was stipulated. 

According to the captain, the company had just purchased the vessel in Vietnam, and the Eversun arrived in Nakhodka to load coal. The SUR FERO Chairman Nikolay Sukhanov said that the vessel's documentation was not fully brought into compliance with the requirements of the Maritime Labor Convention. In addition to employment contracts, the Declaration of Maritime Labor Compliance, Part II, was not available on board the vessel either, though there was a temporary certificate signed by the beneficiary shipowner, a Dubai-based Dreamline Commodities DMCC. 

In whole, the crew was in a dangerous situation. "Working without contracts, the seafarers risked not getting their salaries or compensation - in the event of an injury," Nikolay Sukhanov explained. 

This is why the SUR FERO representatives applied to the Nakhodka Harbormaster's Office with a request to arrange an inspection of the MV Eversun. The shipowner was promptly informed that the lack of employment contracts is considered a gross violation of seafarers' rights. By the time of the Port State Control inspection, the employer had resolved the situation by signing contracts with the seafarers, following all of the Union's actions. 

-The MV is still at the Nakhodka anchorage, waiting for further instructions from the shipowner, - Nikolay Sukhanov noted. — The most important thing is that seafarers now do their jobs with signed individual contracts in hand.
