Ksenia Lukanina received a certificate from SUR

The Seafarers' Union of  Russia continues to award certificates to participants of the Round Table “Women in the maritime industry: realities and prospects”.

Today, SUR Vice Chairman Igor Pavlov congratulated the 2nd year cadet of the Navigation Faculty of the Admiral Makarov State Maritime University of  Maritime and Inland  Shipping Ksenia Lukanina.

The Round Table “Women in the maritime industry: realities and prospects” was held by the Seafarers' Union of  Russia in March. It was attended by industry experts and specialists, as well as cadets of the Admiral Makarov State Maritime University of  Maritime and Inland  Shipping and the Marine Technical Academy named after Admiral D. N. Senyavin.

The girls told why they chose a seafaring as a career and how are their professional lives.  Each of them has her own story, but there is also something that unites them. This is a love for the sea, a desire to make a career in the maritime fleet.

Ksenia Lukanina was born in the hero city of Sevastopol, both her grandfathers are master mariner, and her uncle is a Chief Officer. “From an early age, I listened to stories about maritime traditions, fascinating tales, and was surrounded by maritime romance,” she said.

And at the same time, Ksenia Lukanina always understood that work at sea is not just a beautiful scenery that the captain admires from the bridge, but, above all, it involves incredible responsibility, accurate performance of duties, and dedication to the profession.

“I made my choice as a child because I only dreamed of the sea,” she added. “And when I decided to enter  Makarovka, my family fully supported me”.
