CHIEF ENGINEER OF LNG TANKER “SCF LA PEROUSE” VLADIMIR VARENOV WAS AWARDED “THE SUR BADGE OF HONOR”

The members of the Seafarers' Union of Russia successfully work on board vessels of leading shipping companies. One of them is the Chief Engineer of the LNG tanker "SCF LA PEROUSE" Vladimir Aleksandrovich Varenov (pictured right), who was awarded the "The SUR Badge of Honor". With this award the union, which unites almost 80,000 seafarers, recognized his long-term service in the merchant fleet and dedication to the profession and the sea.

The solemn award ceremony for Vladimir Varenov took place at the office of the SUR Primary Organization of St. Petersburg. The Chairman of the SUR Primary Organization of St. Petersburg, Alexander Fedorovich Kulakov (pictured left), presented the badge of honor to the seafarer and noted that the “main hero of the occasion” is a real professional and a highly qualified specialist, he passed all the stages of the ship engineer career ladder and is well-respected among his colleagues. Vladimir Varenov cannot imagine his life without the sea; every time he looks forward to his next voyage with great impatience. He is a graduate of the Admiral Makarov State Maritime Academy.

Vladimir Aleksandrovich began his career in 1996 working on board Sovcomflot Group vessels, and for the last 7 years he has been on watch on SCF LNG tankers. Of course, he had the opportunity to work on different types of vessels: container ships, bulk carriers, etc. However, Vladimir Alexandrovich prefers gas carriers. Everyday work on board such vessels is like the rhythm of a large, fast-moving city. And in order to keep up with the times, it is necessary to constantly improve professional skills and knowledge. For Vladimir Alexandrovich, this became an integral part of life at sea and onshore.
