The crew change of seafarers from the m/v SDL Maya will take place in Hitachinaka port

As a result of the concerted action by the Nakhodka Port State Control and the Inspectors of the Far Eastern Territorial Organization of the Seafarers’ Union of Russia (FETO SUR), the issue concerning crew change of the 12 Filipino seafarers of the m/v SDL Maya, some of which have been working on board for 14 months, is nearing completion. 

In response to the demands of the crew members and the steps taken by the union, the Japanese operator, company Shinme Kisen Sangyo KK, informed that the crew change will be arranged at the next port of call  and all outstanding wages will be transferred to the crewing agent so that the seafarers can receive their money in full upon arrival in Manila.

-Today, the crew of the vessel SDL Maya, consisting of 12 Filipino seafarers, have flown to Manila from Tokyo, - Nikolay Sukhanov, FETO SUR Chairman. - Before getting on a bus, the signed off  crew took a photo and sent us  a letter of thanks for the assistance with repatriation after 14 months work on board the vessel and in receiving wage arrears. Part of the debt in the amount of $75,000 has already been transferred to the seafarers' accounts. The second part in the amount of $165,000 will be transferred at the end of July 2023, which is confirmed by a letter of guarantee from the shipowner.

The seafarers highly appreciated the assistance and support provided by the SUR to all seafarers and sincerely thanked the trade union.
