There are no problems with payments on board m/v Amber Trader

Representatives of the Kaliningrad Territorial Organization of the Seafarers’ Union of Russia (KTO SUR) visited the ship staying  at the container terminal of the port Kaliningrad and found out there were not problems with payments. According to the crew, the shipowner, Amberseas Maritime Ltd, does not limit the ways of paying wages: money can be received in cash, by transfer to banks dealing with Europe or through the MarTrust e-wallet.

-The mixed crew of 9 people consists of Russians and Ukrainians, - Lyudmila Izmalkova, Chairman of the KTO SUR says. - Our first question to the seafarers were about the salaries and crew change. Just at time of our visit two crew members from  Kaliningrad have completed their contracts and have been waiting for replacement, which  should arrive soon. In general, the crew has no claims or complaints about working conditions.

During the meeting the representatives of the Union gave the crew souvenirs and gifts. The seafarers warmly thanked them.

It should be noted that m/v Amber Trader (IMO 9180853, flag of Antigua and Barbuda, 1997-built) has loaded iron ore on board  at Kaliningrad and headed to the Netherlands. The vessel is covered with a collective agreement of the International Transport Workers' Federation valid till  2023, that is another evidence of the shipowner's concern for the well-being of the crew.

According to KTO SUR, on Monday, when representatives of the organization visited m/v Amber Trader, there was a real excitement at the container terminal: m/v Valday (IMO 9142576, flag of Antigua and Barbuda) arrived at the port, this vessel has been inspected in Riga, Latvia, before calling at Kaliningrad,  and  m/v STK-1004 (IMO 8326060) under the Russian flag also called at the port with a long-awaited cargo of cement (EUROCEMENT 500) on board, and the  State Port Control Officers just were going to visit this vessel.
