SUR helped obtain payment of 10 million rubles to the crew of Leros I

Russian seafarers of the m/v Leros I (IMO 9145786, flag of Panama) received about RUB10 million.  Captain Albert Fazliev shared this news with the SUR Primary Organization in Vladivostok. The story of non-payment of money began back in August, when the crew arrived  in Venezuela to join the vessel. In addition to a poor technical condition of the vessel and food and drinking water supply disruptions the crew stopped being paid wages. Soon wage debts grew to three months: from October to December. The captain sought help wherever possible, including the Russian consul in Venezuela, the crewing company, the operator. But nothing happened.

Then Captain Albert Fazliev followed the advice of the Chairman of  SUR Primary Organization in Vladivostok Petr Osichansky to apply to the insurance company "ARSENAL" and the administration of the flag state (Panama). The matter moved forward: the crew was paid off all wage debts, which on December 27 amounted to almost RUB10 million  (USD142,000). Now both crewing company  and owners are trying to  book tickets for the crew, it is hoped that all crew members of Leros I  will be back home by early January. Even though they won't celebrate the New Year with their loved ones, but they will probably spend Christmas in the bosom of their families.
